Prop forward Connor Brooks opened the scoring of the game when he crashed through the Ovenden defence from close range. Ben Howe added two extra points with the conversion.
The Bulldogs then scored again straight after when Ben Howe found a gap in the defensive line and skilfully sidestepped the full-back to extend the lead to 10 points.
Dearne Valley started the second half with complete control of the game and this was shown when Ben Howe made a brilliantly-timed pass to centre Harry Fullelove-Kennedy who was running a superb line to earn him a try. Ben Howe then converted the try.
Another six points for the Bulldogs came when a quick play the ball caught out the Ovenden defence and Ben Howe was able to cross the line for his second try of the game with a very long run evading numerous tackle attempts, he then managed to convert his own try.
Ovenden hit back with some good attacking plays which saw Owen Clarke and then Ben Howe both make excellent try-saving tackles.
The visitors did manage to get some points on the board when Robbie Grimley managed to score next to the posts, Jordan Howes converted the try.
The Bulldogs skipper Said Jamal showed the fight and determination of the side when he forced his way over the try line from hooker. The try was converted by Ben Howe.
