The Midlands Hurricanes Rugby League Academy are embarking on a new Rugby League development project which will create a perfomance pathway for new and aspiring Rugby League players in the Midlands region.
Working with and supported by professional clubs Coventry Bears, from Kingstone Press League 1, and Betfred Super League League Leaders' Shield winners Castleford Tigers, the Hurricanes will run four Development Hubs across the region at under 16 level to help find new stars of the future from the area and give them the chance to progress into the Midlands Academy College Education Programme.
The Bears and Castleford will also provide opportunities for players to progress into the professional game.
There will be development hubs based in 4 Midlands regional areas:
Each hub will be running two terms of programme consisting of seven weeks of training and three representative matches each term.
The hubs are seeking to recruit volunteers to assist with the management and coaching of each of the hubs and are keen to involve skilled individuals from the community game who would like to get involved.
Team Manager positions available:
Must be a self-starter and proficient administrator
Coach positions available:
Must be minimum level 2 UKCC qualified and able to deliver on the programme - which will be provided and supported
Initial player meetings and registration dates will be confirmed on application.
