The League 1 Cup final will be contested by Barrow Raiders and North Wales Crusaders at Summer Bash in Blackpool later this month, after both sides won their semi-finals on Sunday.
League 1 high-fliers Barrow Raiders cruised to a 64-14 win over Oxford in Cumbria.
It was a tight start to the match, with the scores locked at 10-10 at the half hour mark; Ryan Fieldhouse and Shane Toal scoring for Barrow, with Oxford’s scorers Casey Canterbury and Jordan Gill going over for Oxford.
The hosts then went 20-10 up after tries from Shane Toal and Brad Brennan although Oxford scored just before the interval through Scott Fleming, to leave the game finely balance at 20-14 at the break.
However, Barrow really pulled away after half-time, with Tom Walker, James Duerden, Dan Abram, Lewis Charnock (2), Joe Bullock (2) and Toal all scoring to send Barrow cruising through to the final.
Meanwhile, North Wales Crusaders completed a 37-28 win over University of Gloucestershire All Golds to make it to Blackpool.
Hosts All Golds, who beat Crusaders in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup earlier in the season, took a eighth minute lead through Brad Kislingbury but four tries in the next 20 minutes from Tommy Johnson, Danny Price (2) and Luke Warburton saw them race 24-6 ahead.
Mo Agro scored for All Golds on 37 minutes but Simon Atherton’s effort on the hooter gave the Wrexham-based side a 30-10 advantage at the break.
Ryan Smith then scored for the visitors to make it 36-10 but the game totally swung after Steve Parry’s 45th minute try for Gloucestershire, as the hosts began a brave fight-back.
A double from Chris Barlow and a late effort from Harry King saw them to close within nine points after Ryan Smith’s drop goal for North Wales, but the 2015 League 1 Cup Champions survived as they look to win a second title.
In Sunday’s only League 1 fixture, a late drop goal from Steve Roper saw Whitehaven claim a 19-18 win away at Hunslet.
