Toulouse Olympique face Sheffield Eagles in the Kingstone Press Championship Shield Final on Saturday in the South of France.
Toulouse finished a huge 18 points ahead of Sheffield following the conclusion of the Championship Shield regular season and have won their last six games.
Sylvain Houles’ side defeated Dewsbury Rams 36-22 last weekend to secure their final spot and have won their last two meetings with the South Yorkshire side, although the Eagles did win their home league meeting in February.
Ahead of the final, Houles said: “We’re very excited to play in the final against Sheffield and we know it’s going to be a very physical and tough game.
“They have got some very good players and are very dangerous so we will need to be really switched on if we’re going to come out with the victory.
“It’s going to be a very interesting final and we won’t be taking it easy – we’ve been preparing very hard all week to give us the best chance of a win.”
The Eagles come into the clash in relatively poor form, having won just two of their last four games.
The most recent victory was crucially against Batley Bulldogs in last Sunday’s other semi-final, when they held on for a narrow 28-26 win to secure their final spot.
It’s Sheffield Eagles’ second consecutive Championship Final and they’ll be aiming for a better outcome than in 2016, when they were defeated 27-16 by Bradford Bulls.
Saturday’s final at the Stade Ernest-Argeles kicks off at 3:30pm (CET)/2:30pm (BST).
