Illingworth Girls seek new coach

Illingworth Girls have flourished in recent years and now have over 30 players involved across u14s and u16s, but they are in need of a coach for the 2018 season.

FREE MARKETING AND PLAYER RECRUITMENT ASSETS

A reminder that ALL grassroots clubs can access a range of support from the Rugby Football League including free marketing and promotion assets and materials to help with player recruitment in schools and the local community.

Marketing and design support has already been provided to a number of clubs including Leigh East, West Leeds and Oulton Raidettes.

Challenge Cup fourth round draw

The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fourth round draw has taken place, with three community clubs still involved.

Cumbrians Kells will take on Toronto Wolfpack in a huge test which will take place on Friday, March 16 at Whitehaven's Recreation Ground.

Meanwhile, Pilkington Recs will be looking to cause an upset when they travel to face Coventry Bears on Sunday, March 18.

Finally, Normanton Knights, recently promoted to the NCL Premier Division, will face Rochdale Hornets at Featherstone Rovers' LD Nutrition Stadium next Saturday, 2pm kick off.

Australia Masters travel over

The Australian Masters Rugby League team kicked off their UK tour with a cold trip to Cumbria, where two enthralling games took place.

They are now looking ahead to this Saturday when they take on Great Britain Masters in two fixtures, to be held at Leigh East this Saturday.

NCL hit by weather

The National Conference League was hit by the weather this week, with only one fixture taking place as Leigh East fell to a dramatic 14-12 home defeat to Stanningley on Saturday.

A full fixture list is scheduled for the coming weekend - with a long-awaited LIVE television debut to come as Rochdale Mayfield welcome Egremont Rangers in a Premier Division clash on Saturday, 4.30pm kick off.

YML set for record year

The Yorkshire Men's League is set for another record season in 2018 as more clubs are welcomed to the league.

At least 72 teams will be part of the league for the coming season. Among the newcomers are; Lindley Swifts, Upton, Newsome Panthers, Crofton Sports, Sheffield Forgers, Kirkburton Cougars, Underbank Rangers A and the intriguingly named Yorkshire Scalpels, comprising of a team of doctors. 

"It is very encouraging that our strong and vibrant competition continues to provide meaningful playing opportunities for clubs at all levels of the community game, across the length and breadth of the county," said Yorkshire Men's League Chairman, Stuart Sheard.
