Casty remains Catalans Dragons captain

Remi Casty has been re-appointed as captain of Catalans Dragons for 2018.

The 32-year-old long-serving prop first led his club in 2012 and 2013 and was re-appointed to the role following his return from a brief spell with Sydney Roosters in 2015.

Dragons head coach Steve McNamara said: “Whilst we have many experienced players and leaders within our team, Remi is the logical choice.

“His work within our organisation, both on and off the field, whilst I have been here has been exemplary.”

Casty, who is fit for the start of the new Betfred Super League season this weekend after missing the 2017 World Cup through injury, said: “I’m once again really proud to be the captain of this team.

“It’s an important role to me and it’s a huge honour to represent the club. The quality of this team, both on and off the field, makes my job easier.”
