There was only the one match that took place in the Premier South this week, but it saw a huge win for Gloucestershire.
The home side welcomed Bath, and by the time the final whistle sounded, Gloucestershire had put 56 points past their opponents in a 56-16 win. But the first half was very closely contested, until the away teams defence broke down in the second half.
Bath scored just three times as Ben Reid and Hamish Fawcett got over the line. Lawrence Haywood was the third try scorer, and Haywood was also successful with two of his three conversion attempts.
The visitors gave their man-of-the-match award to Dan Patterson. Bath’s Morgan Evans said: “I think the team performed well in the first half with what was an evenly matched game. We showed a bit of inexperience in the second half, conceding several soft tries with a poor defensive performance.
"From a coaching point of view there were a lot of positives to take from the match and some brilliant individual performances. Going forward we have to set ourselves a solid platform and can only improve."
