Castleford Tigers got back to winning ways on Thursday with a 23-4 victory over Salford Red Devils.
Zak Hardaker scored his first brace for the Tigers, crossing twice in the first half to give Castleford a controlling lead.
Hooker Paul McShane pitched in with a try of his own, taking the ball from dummy half to score Cas’ third. McShane also provided an assist for Hardaker’s first try.
Luke Gale was on form with the boot. The half kicked three conversions, one 40/20 and a late drop goal to seal the two-points. The win means Castleford need just one more point to claim the League Leader's Shield.
Wigan's Liam Farrell and Sam Tomkins grabbed one try each as the Warriors defeated Huddersfield Giants. Tomkins played a nice one-two with Micky Mcilorum to go over and also added one conversion.
Jermaine McGillvary got on the scoresheet for Huddersfield with their only try of the game.
Warrington Wolves’ Stefan Ratchford scored two tries and made one assist as Wire put nine tries past Catalans Dragons.
Chris Hill made 104 metres, 29 tackles and one assist in the win. Half Kevin Brown also made one assist with a fine kick through for Peta Hiku.
Scott Taylor made 145 metres and 25 tackles as Hull FC beat fellow top four hopefuls St Helens.
Mark Percival and Alex Walmsley racked up the yards for Saints, with 172 and 180 metres respectively. James Roby was active in defence, completing 51 tackles in the defeat.
